Secto Rally Finland was named the Most Sustainable Sport Event in the UN Tourism-FIA Awards

Secto Rally Finland, held in the city of Jyväskylä for over 70 years, has been named the Most Sustainable Sport Event in the UN Tourism-FIA Awards for Excellence in Sustainable Sports Tourism.

This recognition shows how sport, tourism, and sustainability can come together to create long-term impact across environmental, social and economic dimensions.

Rally Finland has consistently been a frontrunner in sustainable rally event development, from renewable energy solutions to circular economy practices to forward-looking initiatives such as the Spark the Future forum.

“Secto Rally Finland has become a benchmark for how a WRC event can combine sporting excellence with long-term sustainability thinking.”Bernhard Hafenscher, Innovation & Sustainability Lead at WRC Promoter

At the same time, the award is a strong example of what collaboration can achieve, from the long-term commitment of the host city Jyväskylä to the FIA’s (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) ongoing work to advance sustainability across global motorsport.
