Our goal

What is what we do – what is Sport Event Management Finland

Sport Event Management Finland is a national event unit funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture, host cities and sports institutes. Our goal is to strengthen Finland’s position as a dynamic host country for international sporting events. We connect event rights holders, host cities, sports federations, and event industry professionals.

We organise 1-2 national seminars annually and attend the most important industry seminars and summits yearly. One of our latest projects that was published on 29 April 2026 is a nationwide strategic focused on bidding for international championships together with the Tapahtumateollisuus ry.

Vision

Our vision is to make Finland an ideal host for major international sporting events. We want to show Finland’s opportunities to produce, organise and host sporting events regardless of the sport or the season. We want to bring together event rights holders, host cities, sports federations and operators in the event industry.

The aim is also to act as a forum for co-operation in development activities in the field and as an engine for various business development projects and funding applications.
