Imatra welcomes two big international summer sports events
City of Imatra’s summer event calendar is headlined by two internationally recognised endurance and motorsport events.
The legendary Imatranajo, the largest street circuit motorcycle race in the Nordic countries, celebrates its 60th edition on 3–5 July 2026 as part of the European Series Road Racing Championship. The historic event continues to attract riders and spectators from across Europe and offers the thrill of street racing.
Just one week later, Saimaa Cycle Tour will bring more than 6,000 cyclists to Imatra and the shores of Lake Saimaa. Finland’s largest cycling event offers participants a unique opportunity to experience the midnight sun and the world-famous Finnish lakeland through a variety of road and gravel cycling routes.
Together, the events reinforce Imatra’s position as one of Finland’s most interesting destinations for international sports tourism.
