Finland hosted the Nordic Cheerleading Championships in Turku on January 30–February 1, 2026. The three-day event, held at the Gatorade Center, brought together top teams from Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark and attracted a record number of participants. In terms of athlete attendance, it was the largest cheerleading competition ever held in Finland.
More than 4,000 athletes from 51 clubs travelled to Turku, and the event also drew thousands of spectators to witness elite Nordic cheerleading live. Over the weekend, Nordic Championship titles were contested in eight divisions. In addition, competitions were held in 14 Nordic Open divisions across various age groups.
Finland emerged as the most successful nation at the Nordic Championships. Finnish teams claimed four Nordic Championship titles, collected a strong overall medal haul, and delivered convincing performances in the Nordic Open divisions as well.
In the Women’s Cheer division, the Nordic Championship title went to the Wildcats from Gothenburg. Helsinki-based Funky Team Wild Flyers secured silver with a clean finals performance, while HAC Elite took bronze after an otherwise demanding routine was affected by a mistake in the final pyramid.
