Lahti to host the Gravel Cycling European Championships in 2027
Lahti will organise the 2027 European Gravel Cycling Championships, becoming the first city in Finland to host the event. The championships further strengthen Lahti’s position as an international sports city.
In recent years, Lahti and the surrounding Salpausselkä Geopark area have hosted several international gravel events. The versatile landscape offers routes from forest trails to lakeside scenery, making the Lahti region particularly well-suited for gravel cycling.
“The 2027 European Gravel Championships mark an important milestone for cycling in Finland and the Nordic countries. Our cooperation with Lahti on gravel events, training camps, and tourism positions Lahti as a leading European destination for gravel cycling,” says Maarten Patteeuw, CEO of Breakaway cc.
