Spartan Race brings thousands of athletes around the world to Lahti in August

The Spartan Trifecta weekend and Beast European Championship 2025 are coming to Finland for the first time, taking place in Lahti from August 22–24. The City of Lahti prepares for thousands of visitors and welcomes approximately 3,000 athletes from 30 different countries to tackle three challenging courses.

Spartan Race is more than just a race. Set in the stunning Salpausselkä UNESCO Geopark, Lahti offers unique terrain shaped by Ice Age meltwaters, combining natural beauty with urban charm, with plenty of elevation and water challenges in true Finnish fashion. Routes, which are still secrets, will utilise the landmarks of Lahti: Lake Vesijärvi and iconic ski jumping hills.

“Normally, these competitions are held in mountainous areas. Finland’s nature, lakes, and varied terrain make the August event truly special. Lahti’s surroundings will offer athletes a unique experience,” says experienced Spartan competitor Petra Arvela.

The event reinforces Lahti’s reputation as an international sporting and events city, bringing an estimated economic impact of up to €3 million.
